Hi All,
We are 3 chaps planning to visit a church/leadership conference in Windhoek which fits nicely into the long weekends end of Apr. We have 10 days in total, 3 of which (30Apr-2May)spent at the conference. We thus have 4 full days riding to get there and two full days to return.
Advice please:
1. We want to make the most of the 4 days riding to get there- travelling routes other than the trans-kgalagadi/Bots tar road. Any ideas? What would you include? Routes/places/camping spots etc. Current suggestions are Fish River Canyon or dune riding (any specific spots in the south?) or Swakopmund etc. I realise a couple more days would have been great...
2. Is two days for doing Windhoek to Pta realistic?(via Trans-Kgalagadi)
Bikes: 2 x KLR & 1 x Vstrom 650.
Experience: slightly on the noob side...
Accommo: basic to no facilities. Roadside/wild camping in Nam is still permittable & safe it seems?
I have been to Nam a couple of times, but with 4x4 never with bikes- so any DS bike specific info/interresting places or routes is what we are interrested in.
Julle is gawe mense. Thanks.
