Please tell me what that rod with a green handle on either end is. You have it in front of the handlebars on one of the pics on day 2 I think. Just curious.

I also looked at it and for a moment of two I thought it the hosepipe that was taken with on holiday  :imaposer:

About the photo's - I had the oppertunity to met Visarand and his wife over the weekend and I was also riding for a good 10km or so behind them.  All she does is taking photo's as far as they go.

A job well done - as I said - I use your photo's as background for my computer.

Mev Vis Arend se baie dankie vir die kompliment :thumleft:

On a more serious note, the rod with the green handles were originally attached to the crashbars to be used  when I wanted to stretch my legs out (I'm pretty tall and my legs tend to cramp up).  This idea from a "maak 'n plan broer" did not last long and was abandoned, that's when I attached it to the handlebars.

Wow Louis and wife. What a great RR. Gongrats to both of you for keeping up the adventure spirit after 5 days of rain. I think I might have thrown in the towel. As you know we did much of that route in December and your excellent photos brought back good memories. Good to see you guys again on the Hogsback trip. Lekker!

Thanks Irish

We will be going back to that area very soon, still need to do Bastervoetslaan, for sure.

Awesome RR and brings back fond memories of that area. I used to work in the Dangershoek area for four years as we installed the water supply to the rural areas. Use to travel those roads every day for 4 years.

We use to take a dip and braai at the rock pool in the pick where you bike is standing next to the rock pool. Local legend has it that the locals use to throw their enemies from the cliffs in the background behind your bike.

Would love to go back there and see how things have changed.

What a lucky fish to travel those roads every day for 4 years.

Thanks for the background info.  Luckily we were not the enemy on the day, but what a lovely spot to have a braai.

I would go back any day, it is as you say, awesome.

Thanks for the compliments, but I really think once you in such a situations, survival mode kicks in and you must make the best of the situation.  Keep calm and take it step for step.  It worked for us ( must say, that why we wear dark underwear )

I see you like to keep it UP!  >:D

Very very lekker!

Top notch pics!  :thumleft:

Do you have the route avail ?

SA is a fab place - we just don't get enough opportunities to take full advantage..... gotta tear yourself away from the BS that distracts you from adventure riding.

Thanks
