Help please....
Have an old mate - who I last rode with in 1982! - who has a son and daughter in law wanting to do a 6 week tour of South Africa mid 2018 on bikes. They either have to buy (and sell afterwards) or hire for that time. Both are Doctors in London, and both are fairly competent riding and mechanically apparently, having done bike trips together in the past.
I'm out of the loop when it comes to hiring - does anyone do it? They can base themselves either in Cape Town or Durban, and ride from there. They are looking for 'simple' KLRs/XTs/DRs/single cylinder BMs, something they can fix/maintain along the way. I think they are planning some remote places.
