I downloaded a service manual earlier today and was busy reading through it.
Got to this page about the steering head , thought it looked funny , ran down to the bike and yes , I am right , my trike is missing part no 5.
As the bike is way past warranty , I has a reputable NON BMW concern look the bike over from top to bottom when I bought the bike , which was not that long ago. They obviously felt it was not a part important enough to have...
I commute approx 120 k's every day with most of that at 120 + on the freeway.
I cant see this causing the front wheel to fall off , but will the absence of this part explain the oversensitivity of the bike's steering on the freeway?
