Good day
I am a new member to this forum. I am from De Aar in Northern cape. After a number of years not riding motorcycles i decided that it is time to again buy a dual purpose motorcycle. After some searching i came accross a 2011 Honda 700 transalp with low (20 000) kilos on the clock. I bought the bike and spend another R10 000 on new tyres, sprockets, chain and service kit. I serviced the bike myself and changed oil & air filters and replaced the oil with shell helix HX 7, semi synthetic oil. I hear a strange engine sound when cold starting the bike. It sounds like loose tappets and the sound gets quieter as bike heats up.. The sound however does not "go-away" when bike is on operating temp. So how does a transalp 700 engine sound, is the noise i hear normal, could the 10w40 semi-syn oil be to "thin"? Please help...
