I don't have serious plans over the Christmas period - I get back from KZN round about 20th Dec after my last project of the year. I think I may book a B&B for a couple of nights and try to persuade a few other bikes to join.

Just a thought at this stage.

Christmas for an old timer like me with an empty nest can be depressing in the big cities -

But bike therapy - YeeeHaaa !

Its a one horse town--and the horse died :mwink: Rustig en Lekker in Rooiberg. The locals are also cool :thumleft:

Jog the memories and make the throttle hands itchy, and next thing, off they go. 

Malgat, izznt that weekend the one of the off-road toy run ? 30th Nov.

I had not read all the details about it, but was keen to help the kids.

I will be riding in KZN the weekends of 6th and 13th - and probably also the 16th ( if I don't get roped into a beach-duty by Durban Surf - they like the experienced heavies on the beach on the public holidays )

it is the toy run on the 30th,,,its on the sunday,,,we come back saturday,,,,like i said its not cast in stone,,,,,

we sneak off friday and satday morning ride around those mountains and pick up some goggas and bugs in our teeth and the wind in our nostrils and the adventure of the open road,,,

and then clock back to our cruel and responsible lifes again,,,become those grey little people again in boxes and talk about the economy and how shit life is in the fast lane

GG have you made any decisions yet?? Put off road tyres on the TA and went for a "training" ride with Blazes (THANK YOU "M") to test them had my first ride through the "sand traps" - then did the mine dumps in Boksburg on Sunday so am really keen to get some riding in during December!!

This weekend I am Toyi-Toying (not sure which toy run yet) and then down to KZN until about Dec 20, so I am out of action 'til then.

Great report Gunda, I was wondering what you consult on? Im a ME that used to be in consulting too strategic & technical mine planning, now in oprations again, which is how Ive managed to get paid for riding to minesites! ;D

I love the Limpopo, its a great place for awesome rides. Not sure if you get out to the mines around Potties, but from there across to Thaba is a great ride. If you can get out Marken way, its a bit further, but the dirt roads from there back to Potties take you through some really spectacular scenery on the north eastern side of the waterberg.
