JM Your thoughts on taking a pillion through Bastervoet, Potrivier and NaudesNek - doable?

Potriver/Naude's/Lundean's and most of the dirt roads around that area are good dirt road. Up/down the passes are good as well. Rain of course changes everything.

Bastevoetpad.

It depends on the weather conditions. When we were there, it did rain beforehand making small sections muddy. I would say based on what we experienced that day, yes. Do it. Those sections that were tricky were not long so it can easily be walked by pillion while you struggle through it. Even that rocky section is not too long. A few hundred meters at most.

I would do it if I was there. It's too good to miss.  :thumleft:

Heavy rain of course changes the whole picture. That would make the whole pass and the 2 spoor on the way to/from Ugie a battle in mud. :ricky:

Note: This was almost 4 years ago. Conditions of the pass might have changed for better or worse. Go search RR's on Baster. Lot's of RR's. Search under Glenink's (RIP) name.  8)

Bastervoetpad is rough nowadays. Look for Veldbrand's RR after Glen's memorial. Some sections you should be able to pillion, depending on your skill level. Mostly, going up from the Ugie side, your pillion is going to walk or help you push the bike.  :ricky:

Just take your time and do it. Very much worth it and remember to put a stone on the cairn at the top to wish other travelers good a good journey.  :thumleft:

See this one.

It shows the different "issues" you will encounter wet or dry. 8)

Thanks Gents, appreciate the feedback and pointers. :thumleft:

Veldie & Dodo did that section in poor conditions. I think they are still undergoing counselling  :peepwall:

That looks like a great trip, something I would like to do one day. Thanks for all the photos and your great report. :thumleft:
