Ter verdediging aan JMOL en ou bees, die twee pas darem mooi bymekaar.     :thumleft:

We came to the "fork" and turned right towards Uniondale.  If I tell you that we saw more than 50 kudu's that morning, you wouldn't believe me.  The were in the "rante", in the dips and all over the show.  At one stage I said to Ou Bees that I'm not riding faster than what I am doing as I am afraid of a kudu jumping in front of us.  Having said that, a kudu jumped out of the bush less than 3 meters in front of us.  At another stage we came around the corner / bush and three kudu's were standing in the road.  It was amazing to see how the can jump over a fence.  At various places we had to slow down because of the small buck running across the road and in front of us.

What an experience - I have to go back - maybe if I go to the EC Bash this year.............

OK - the show must go on.  We were on this beautiful road and at various places the road wasn't as good as the rest, but we carried on.  We passed a farmhouse or two that were empty but you could see that people are moving up and down in the area.  At one stage a lady (+/-20 years old) was running next to the road.  I don't think she expected us as she looked very frightened.  We just waved and passed.  A kilo or two down the road we saw a sign where she would turn in.

There were also various "driffies" and at one of them, we nearly went into a thorn tree.  Mr Sand nearly caught me.  I was just lucky enough to stop just in time, but we had a good laugh about it.  Personally I wouldn't like to stop like that with a pillion.

Die sonbesies sing al klaar  :deal:

As ons eendag alleen is, dan sal ek jou die trick gee  :lol8:

Again we didn't have food as I thought the day would be a short day to Uniondale.....  At a gate we stopped (think in total were 3 gates) and decided to rest in the shade and drink some water.

OK Dorsland - the Voortrekkers didn't ask me to go with.  Maybe I would be the guy who would go east  :lol8:   :sip:

Cannot remember the dates on these, but they were also around that time - it was a while before I was born

Remember that I said previously that we can change a trip / route whenever we want.  Nou ja - sulke tyd.  :deal:  :deal:

While I am eating I am playing with the idea to tell Ou Bees bogger all the gravel.  We only see LJ and Celesette +/- 5 days in a year.  We already booked for tonight in George, and I want to meet ChrisL in Stilbaai the following day.

When I mentioned to her that we go all the way tar to George, visit Celestte's parents that are camping in Wildernis and go tar the following day to Cape Town, she was more than happy.. . . .  So gese, so gedaan.

LJ and Celestte are both in 7th heaven and off we go after we spend more than two hours in the shop drinking coffee etc.

Rocks as we left Uniondale.  Not sure if the ghost of Uniondale is still with us, but we are moving.....  :thumleft:

DAY 2 Sunday – 2014-12-21

Day two of our trip started.  We had a good rest.  The plan was to eat breakfast in Uniondale as Ou Bees wasn’t in Uniondale before and I thought that after breakfast we can drive around town.  OK – not much, but we love these small towns.

The route for the day was to go from Steytlerville south and then follow the road towards Uniondale all along the Baviaans Mountains – not sure what the names of the mountains are??

From Uniondale we would go to Avontuur towards Knysna and after that the 7 or 6 passes in the George area where we would spend the night in George, visiting family.

BUT – it is our trip, we have nobody chasing us and we have plenty of time, so we can change the route when we like to do so, but more about that a bit later.

Oos na Wes is dit eers die Baviaansberge en dan die Winterhoekberge. Die pad wat julle gery het is die Eco trail.
