About Jackets and Pants

I am out there getting a new jacket and pants for DS riding. Looking for the best compromise for wide range of conditions. I have my mind set, but would like to hear your opinions:

- Good padding / protection in right places
- Comfortable
- Durable
- Practical
- Not too cold in winter
- Not too hot in summer
- Don't want to get dressed 3 times a day, rather once in 3 days.
- Ok to carry rainsuit, but reasonable water proof would be nice.
- Easy access to pockets / zips, etc and good quality velcro.
- Not black - Visible as can be.

Is there anything really bad or really good about your stuff. Is the BMW stuff worth the price? Is there something equally as good without the badges?

Or is a normal pair of MX pants and an inexpensive jacket the right way to go? Please let me have your ideas....
