advice needed on making a fiberglass KLR front end.

i want to make a new front end of my KLR, a direct copy of the standard on but with the wind shield built in and higher up and pushed out. similar to below photos.

now i am not really an expert on fiberglass but can i take off the front end, cover in paper mache, dry and then coat that with fiber glass and make into my own shape? (

what you guys think, would that work?
