Advice needed: Perished grip rubbers

Hi all,

New to the f800GS world - and coming from a KLR, this thing is damn fancy!

Picked up a '09 (not adv), and the rubbers on the heated grips are perished. From a bit of research it seems BMW only sells the heated grips as a unit. Any way I can just replace the rubbers?

PS. I did a quick forum search and couldn't get anything. So if I missed it, please point me to where this has been discussed.
