My love affair with the Africa Twin began way back in 2010 when my dad, myself and a mate had a braai, couple of beers and started dreaming about travelling through Africa. At that stage I had never heard of the Africa Twin.
I started looking for bikes and reading on the net as to what bikes were the most capable (At that stage) and what was mentioned most in online posts.
I stumbled upon the Africa Twin and immediately fell in love with it. So I started looking at bikes. All were a touch above my pay grade. Then I found one advertised for R32000. Went to go and look at it and I was shocked. The bike was a wreck. rust all over. 1 x Piston seized, no CDI. Bike was very rough and looked like it stood outside forever at the coast.
So we came down about 50% on the price and I took her home.
Since then I have spent far more on the bike than what it is worth. But Hey, this bike is part of the family and will NEVER be sold, even if I do get the new one.
So I started repairing and fixing the bike. Unfortunately no pics of what it initially looked like. in 2012 I eventually I got to a stage where I did a Upside down Front end conversion. The write up can be found here:

Had many wonderful km's on the bike and then decided to completely redo the bike beginning 2014. The write up can be found here:

And now we are at part 3, Rally Fairing Conversion. a Few months ago I sold my front fairing parts and have finally ordered and received my rally fairing. Picked up my bike today from storage at my dad's place.
