Did anybody see the program on bike airbags on Discovery channel last night? They did some crash tests (T-bone and at an angle) and from the footage it seemed as though the dummy was much better off with the airbag.
It looks like they install the airbag on top of the tank and it expands forwards/upwards on impact thus keeping the rider's head from hitting the object he crashed into.
Nifty device but they said it's still going to take some time to develop.
