Day 1: Centurion to Aliwal North, tar via Bloem to pick up a friend along the way.
Day 2: Aliwal North to Rhodes via Lundin's. Awesome pass, very scenic. A bit rocky in places, but nothing too bad.

Day 3: Rhodes to Swartberg via Naude's. A bit more sketchy than Lundin's with some sharp rocks. Filled up in Mount Fletcher, which reallly is is a PROPER ********.

No photos of the rough parts for obvious reasons. 🙃

Day 4: Swartberg to Nottingham via Lower Lutheni - amazing road with awesome scenery.

Day 5: Nottingham to Clarens via tar.
Day 6: Back home, via the Vaal

We didn't really know what to expect of Lower Lutheni rd, and could easily have pushed through to Clarens, making the trip one day shorter, but either way, it was an AMAZING trip.

After all of that it did take some doing to get my bike and gear clean, and dust free again. EVERYTHING was covered in a very fine dust, almost like what you'd find in south Namibia.

Lekker trip(y) Was planning something similiar but the weather did not play along at the time. Lower Lotheni on a nice day is something special.

Thanks guys. We were very lucky, you'll notice in the pics, not a single cloud in the sky, and it was the same all of the days. Was a bit cool in Rhodes when we started the day, but it warmed up very quickly.

Some stars taken in Rhodes:

This is a route that I have had in mind for some years now - I think I must wait until spring as I want to camp....

Great inspiration - thank you for sharing!

Nice pics thanks @johanp

Did you Guys have any hassles at Border Posts or not really
Red Tape, like Import Duties or whatever?
