So I'm finally able to ride off-road properly. But I'm very very rusty and have forgotten a few things along the way (been that long).
My question is pretty basic.
On mud and sand (potentially gravel too), if you need to stop or slow down, the front break is a 'no-no' due to nose dives, skids etc.
I know the clutch in method is the first thing to do. Regarding the brakes. IS it fine to use the back brake first? It does make the rear squat down which in theory is better than the front doing?
What's the deal?
Been riding a short strip near home on my way home from work and its mostly hard gravel so its been easy. Yesterday was proper 'snot' mud which was good to get on as I have developed a fear for the stuff (those who were on my last ride will know why). I ploughed into the mud with a little speed with weight back and steering loose.
If I needed to stop, how?
