So it's come to that........... nobody has posted installation pics, so here goes. (for my GSA)
Firstly I decided that the Banshee unit is too flippen bulky. So I split the two sections. This now allowed a vast amount of new options for mounting!
you will see on the above two images that there's a small protruding tube which hooks into a cavity hole in the compressor........ well that's sort of a dust-seal/protector to prevent crap from being sucked into the unit when operational.
So technically - by splitting the two units - you have a stunning mounting option on the horn's itself........ the protrusion can merely be filed off and the horn section will simply clamp onto your fork in the front! :thumleft:
ZE PROBLEM is that you need to protect the air intake..... so there's two options here............ cut off half of the plastic mount and affix to the compressor to protect the intake as designed............ :-[
OR you can make another plan......... I'm still thinking, but will probably use a 10mm tube to re-create the air cover/protector...... :-\ (will post if it gets resolved)
Remember that there's a huge space under the right-hand front tank section of the GSA where the Americans have Charcoal filters installed? Well that's the perfect place to mount the unit - either entirely - or one of the components. There are even moulded fastening points for your bracket to hold the compressor in place! Well protected and totally out-of-the-way!
I have been looking for a spare bracket - ideally the one supplied by BMW to hold the charcoal filter, would be perfect but one can imagine what the cost for this piece of "Blik" would be..... another home-loan...!
Still have to get the rest of the parts needed - but will be using a thick-walled tube with 5mm ID to reconnect the compressor with the horn section. I'll probably use an Aluminium 8mm gas adaptor that has a thread on one end and merely tap it into the horn section.
complete assembly and installation to follow...... :thumleft:
