Its almost become boring to post Kaokoland pics. There are so many stunning pics of this amazing place, but what the hell here are a couple more from a recent trip.

WE cheated a bit and chartered an 8 seater Caravan up to Ruacana from Windhoek where we met our bikes. A great option which cut out all the less spectacular bits of the trip as well being stunning way of seeing the likes of Etosha from above.

Our second indulgence was to do no camping on this trip.

What a pleasure to get off the bikes after another epic day in the saddle and chill at a great guesthouse or lodge. And Kaokoland has some show stopper lodges on offer.

And Kaokoland wouldn't be Kaokoland without some epic animal encounters. Wow and June didn't disappoint. We were gifted with the first desert elephants in Puros since 2023. A group of 8 including a couple of young ones visited us at the lodge in the evening and again in the Puros Canyon the following morning. And it just got better. The Huab River Trail was a feast of game sightings, with tons of giraffe, elephant, zebra, springbok, oryx and ostrich all along the river.

And of course just heaps of the finest trails on the planet. Every day a new challenge and ever changing landscapes. River beds, tough climbs (think van Zyl's Pass), open desert plains and remote African bush tracks and roads. If you don't like riding here you don't like riding.

And then the great mind bender. 30 Seconds out of the lush canyons and we're on a vast desolate plain for 50 kilometres of gas burning fun.
