I need to replace my chain as every few days it requires tightening and some links are stiff and make a clicking sound.

I got a quote from Trac Mac for R1500 including labour, although I can't remember which type.

I don't want to put something rubbish on which would affect resale price of my bike or cause me extra labour tightening the thing every weekend but I also don't want to throw money down the drain on something that is likely to worn anyway by sand riding, etc.

What are my options? Where is my money most effectively spent? Also, what are peoples opinions on oilers?

A friend of mine mentioned a Scotty Oiler or something. It continuously applies oil to your chain. I would have thought that would just attract sand/dirt and create a grinding paste for chain wear but I could be wrong. Maybe it can easily be removed for dirt riding?
