Bike carrier for KTM 500 question.

Is anyone using a bike carrier on a towbar on a small car that can give me their thoughts on it? I have a vw t cross and thinking of getting bike carrier to carry my KTM 500. It's rated to tow 1100kg but not sure of the towbar weight rating on that car. I have no space to keep trailer that's why thinking of bike carrier.
