Grey Hound
After another journey completed around the sun, it was time for another edition of my now customary birthday ride. This year would be solo again, my normal riding buddy on my birthday, rooipoot could not make it. The route of choice was a loop through the Overberg.
The real riding begin at the Theewaterskloof bridge, it was still fogged up when I got there.
From here I took the gravel through Eerstehoop and Van der Stel pass towards Bot River
From Bot River I headed out on the service road along the railway towards Houwhoek, the first time I'm doing this little road
Once at the N2 I headed for Boontjieskraal, and took the gravel in the direction of Genadendal
Saw a lone silo on a hilltop, does not appear to be in use, other than as a lookout by Egyptian geese
I turned left after meeting up with the Helderstroom/Genadendal gravel, and the road runs right along the river in some places.
Eventually I got to the R43, and decided to investigate a little farm road with no signage, where I saw these sights.
Then it was back onto the R43, and towards Villiersdorp to visit some friends and family
With all the visits concluded, it was time to slab it back to Cape Town
After running some errands, my wife dropped this on my lap
Man, I'm really blessed to have had such an awesome day 8)
And my bike also turned 21k today ;D
