From post, the bridge over the Bot river on the N2 was washed away , in the resent storms ,and could be closed for some time . Hoping it would be open by Xmas or at least have a detour . But if not what would the alternate suggestion be for a route going to Saldana ?
Looking at the map , option is to turn away just after Swellendam and head towards Worchester , then Ceres and turn off to do the Baines Kloof pass , Wellington , Moreesburg - Saldana .
Or turn up the R43 towards Theewaterskloof dam and then back on the R45 towards Grabow , and back on the N2 . BIT OF A DETOUR , but interesting ride , could add a hour or 2 to the trip .
Might have to plan in a pit stop in Cape town . for now just a suggestion on the best option , Aware things can change as we do not have future vision
