OK, so ive got my GS (Finally) and after riding for a while there a few weird noises and other jittery things.
Can we have a thread to sum up what is normal and what not. I know the bm's are robust and have many a noises etc.
KTM owners, you can answer if :
1. Your bike has a working water pump.
2. You owned a BMW and now the sounds.
3. If your KTM has 3km or more, trouble free.
OK now for the List.
1100 GS
1. Has a nice backfire as i understand.
1150GS
1. Pinking occurs when accelerating heavily. (Ive been running 95, and it does not make a difference.) Sounds like small pieces of glass in the motor, very small...
2. When going offroad, and it gets a bit wavy. There is a sound (like a scanner running forward and backward) coming from under the tank/gearbox side. What is that?
3. When starting it there is a heavy tappit noise and goes away in a few seconds, I assume its the oil.
4. When revving high while riding and I pull in the clutch, the tappets go beserk (or it sounds like that to me)
5. The gearbox is loud, period. - This normal?
6. Backfires with Y piece and aftermarket zorst. - Sounds nice!
7. When going between the higher gears,i must CLEARLY select 5/E otherwise it jumps out.
