In cleaning the bike on Sunday I noticed that part of the rev counter has melted, fortunately its probably not as bad as it would have been. had I not had one of those little metal screens that goes under the main one fitted. By the looks of the melt line and angle one of the semi vertical turns in the screen acted as a magnifying glass to cause the damage.
Anyone had the same problem and if so tried to make a claim out of it against BMW, if so what was the response.
Seems a bit bizaar that they would make the cluster which is in the open out of a plastic susceptible to heat - then again I guess it was designed in Germany where they don't have our sun.
