Brassmonkey
Pack Dog
BMW HP2 Megamoto
110k km’s
Just been serviced by BMW Bavarian (Centurion)
Engine still feels "new" - runs smooth, feels and sounds VERY perky.
Dry weight: 179kg. Power to weight like few boxer motors, even current models.
17" front wheel (stock) means it dips into corners very easy, was an absolute pleasure through traffic. I’ve had the gs1200, gs1200 adventure, 1200R, GS800 and none handle even closely like this.
I used this bike to commute - never been wheely’d, or any funny business.
It handles particularly well, being light.
The boxer motor also isn’t the average boxer: do some research on the motor and driveshaft (longer than the normal boxer swing arm, motor has been factory performance tuned, such as a lighter flywheel)
Akrapovich pipe (factory fitted)
BMW decided to eliminate typical tele-lever suspension for an upside down ÖHLINS front fork, as well as a ÖHLINS rear shock. Both highly tunable.
I have never jumped it but apparently it does it very well. Not sure where though?
All in all the bike is a total hoot to ride, VERY comfortable, especially with the extended screen and the Wünderlich extender I fitted.
Very sad to sell her, but financially I can’t justify it: working from home since COVID and I did about a 1000km’s since. So no commuting anymore. With kids school fees and saving for their future I guess it’s time.
