Great stuff Dreamer - must include some of the pics of the big fish we caught with that home-made tackle hey!

Only now had time to catch up with the rest of the pics and report added and just have to say those big, white, wide open ***** oops meant beaches are spectacular!

Nice one guys looks really beautiful out there!  :)

So we continue....

Pistol trying something new. Real nervous.

1.jpg

Then Smithey... Little cautious...

2.jpg

3.jpg

Smithey actually "tested" it the last night......or could he not open his tent???

4.jpg

Eventually we decided it was time to fetch Brad's bike.  Unfortunately - it was dark we were dead on our feet and did not take a waypoint or saved the route to get back to the bike......there are many routes (apparently) and we were not sure where to turn or go.

This was what we had to content with in pitch dark, overcast raining and cold drive in....

a1.jpg

a2.jpg

Again things are big here in Africa - This is not a statue...reel live stock...

a3.jpg

We eventually gave up looking for the bike and decided to go for help. Local game rangers confirmed that they saw the bike on the Friday but not today (Saturday)  Eventually with their help they pointed out the spot where the bike was seen....and needless to say it was gone.

We confirmed from the tire impressions that this was indeed the spot were Brad ditched the bike.....but also signs of bakkie spoor.....and a seeming struggle to load what was Brad's bike...

In desperation on route to Mabibi - we also neglected to lock the front wheel - making it o so easy to push away or load....

The bike was gone.......Phone the cop shop and report it missing...then phone the insurance and report it stolen.

Brad was ....well sad!

So Back to camp with the sad news....

Then it was the end. We had to pack up and go...so last few pictures before departure..

8.jpg

Smithey getting ready!!!!
9.jpg

Everyone very quiet...

10.jpg

11.jpg

12.jpg

13.jpg

16.jpg

And off we go!!!!

14.jpg

Fortunately - good news. They found Brad's bike...its at the cop shop.  Something we have learned....this close to the border anything ditched is presumed stolen........so the cops picked up the bike. It would only mean a 50km detour.....and a quick pickup. Or so we thought....

Bud thats for later in the story. We first had to get out of this place and hit some tar...

19.jpg

Then some fun for the first time ...smithey cannot stay upright.

The pictures does not replect the true state of the road. It looks great - but boy its slow and hard going.

Hair on teeth stuff!!!

28.jpg

29.jpg

33.jpg

36.jpg

Thank god - me reached some tar....now the detour to Cop shop and Brad's long lost love....

34.jpg

Bad again - Bad news. What was thought to be a quick pick up and go turned to nearly an hour of hell and paperwork and hell again follwed by more paper work and even more faxed from Brad's other half.

b1.jpg

Then yet again - more bad news.

The bike is badly damaged in the struggle to load it on the bakkie.....at least it would go. It is a BMW by the way!!!

b6.jpg

Then...eventually with the paper work done and nessasary proofs received we manage to leave the cop shop and hit the road....

From here we did not take too much pictures - it was still a loooong distance and we had to get home...

This is Pongola Dam - Our last stop before the main tar to pongola and home.

We had great weather and never got hot from the sun......

Last point from me:

Special Thanks to Thomas - without you and your trusty steed this would not have been possible.

Smithey  - For keeping us entertained... (Advice is free - if Smithey goes with you dont have enough beer)

Pistol - Great solid guy - great friend and a must to take with...will let you know when we go again.

Brad - Hi Boss - sorry for the damage. Hope you have enjoyed it (Brad is really my boss - some serious bonding)  Please take this non-dog along - great friend and always there when you need him.

Dreamer (Myself ) - I love you........great trip!!!

Will see you all at our next yourney....the planning has started......this time 2 x support 4x4's will be needed. I learned my lesson (take more beer).

If a CamelBak is bigger than a jeep with trailer - yeah that could work.

Great stuff Dreamer, thanks for the invite - one other thing I took from Mabibi - Bloody Tick bite fever - sitting in bed reading this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-[

Brad had that as well - and since it is only you and Brad - The question to ask is this.
