Goingnowherequickly. Yes there is a lot of water in Cambodia. The country is completely flat.

Takashi, yes it is expensive, but hell, it is a lot of fun. We have learned a lot out of this trip and next time we will do it must cheeper by not using a big touring company but rather a local Cambodian connextion.

Leo , one of the guys in the SA group had his birthday while we were there. We thought it would be fun to have "jackets" made and use them on his birthday, it was so funny and frikken dam hot.

I was thinking of doing Vietnam or Cambodia some time next year. Going the local route would do it much cheaper.

This looks like proper fun - what's the budget for a trip like this?
PM send

Thanks - What skills level would you say you need to have to enjoy a trip like that? - Just watched the video - It's a seriously exciting adventure :thumleft:

How did you manage to charge your camera battery?

Oh. My. Word.

This has just made my day. Cambodia is somewhere that I have been desperate to see, and a possibility to do it on a bike?!!?

Thursday suddenly isn't so bad.

Awesome!

Do you know if I can use my own bike for one of their trips? My mate and I have been planning to head over for a week or two around the end of March since its like 6 hours away from here

I don't know if they will allow it. You can email them and ask them.
I think they would like everybody to be on the same level, also they carry a lot of spares which would not be compattible with your bike. And believe me, you will need spares.
You dont wanna use your own bike for this trip. We truly abused the bikes, we constantly drowned them, disk brakes had to be replaced every 3rd day, etc

We were lucky, almost all the hotels had power. I also used the back-up vehicles to charge my stuff.
On a trip like this you quickly learn to improvise :thumleft:

By all reports and this one this was an adventure of note, glad you all had such a good time and experience, thanks for sharing! :thumleft:

Some interesting questions come to mind ...

Did you romp around with wet gear all the time (boots and socks)?
Any odd creatures or water born diseases?
Any floaters?

What an incredible opportunity and experience!

It was extremely hot, we used every oppertunity we could get to take a swim ( with all our gear on, boots included ) as you can see in the photos. Because of the heat we dried out within a few minutes just to reach the next river crossing a few minutes later.
We loved all the river crossings because it gave us a chance to cool down.
We saw a few snakes and rats in the water that joined us for a swim.
We had a number of scorpions in our beds and had to clean our boots every morning before we put them on.
I was bitten by something that burned like hell, dont know what it was but the docter pulled 2x small fangs out of me.
Floaters, yes we did see a few. Cambodia has no suridge system nor any rubish removal system, you have to see it to believe it.
