Read tons of threads and reviews all over the net about 1200gs vs 800gs, it's been beaten to death, but I just cannot decide.
Used to own a 1200gs, and enjoyed it alot. Would like to get another bike now, the 800 is tempting as it's something different to what I have had, also
2nd hand it seems on auto trader I can get about a 2 year newer model with less mileage, for the same price as a 2nd hand 1200gs.
I like the idea that the 800 is lighter for offroad and it seems it will lane split better as well, and overall I prefer the 800gs looks to the 1200gs.
But I would not hesitate to ride a 1200gs from Pretoria to Cape Town, on the 800...not sure.
Also would I be able to sit at 160km/h on the 800gs comfortably?
My riding is 40km round trip commute on the N1 during the week and offroad exploring on weekends, with the odd breakfast run trip to Clarens, Sabie, etc. from Pretoria.
Anyone have any ideas and suggestions?
