Now and then I take a ride to town or to Nieu-Bethesda for breakfast. Nothing serious, a slowish dawdle. For rides like this, it's a hassle to dress up in full ATGATT.
Any thoughts on riding shoes (sneakers?) that offer more protection than, for instance, hiking boots? Even shorty boots may be overkill. Something that can be worn with a pair of denims.
Jacket, gloves and helmet of course are non negotiable. And yes, I know full ATGATT is the route to go but I survived OK for many years in my youth without full-on ATGATT.
