Inaugural report here too.It was just a day trippie.. but I guess it was a ride, so here goes. I am migrating my stuff slowly from another board to this one, in the hope that this board takes off nicely, and becomes a good source of ride information. Here goes

Hoezit... very few pics.. just to share my first ride offroad longer than 10minutes and a crash. :p

It also didnt take long to get a riding partner, unplanned, at 11am on a Sunday morning - first attempt! Cool - he had somehow organised to go to some special Grabouw place where gates would have to be opened etcetc.

Turns out that we had to go and pay R50 for a route that I have ridden 100 times before...except one road, which was new. And this road was all the worth it. As I said, sorry for the poor resolution, but for a cellphone cammy (2mega pixels), I guess its cool. You get the idea anyhow huh?

Its high up at Suicide Gorge in Grabouw, not another road to be seen as far as the eye could scan. It was more than beautiful and we didnt even take pictures to really show the vista. I was focused on sitting down on the bike, instead of standing up, but after nearly going off into a ditch within 2 kays of offroading, that little plan got scrapped. Had to!

Enjoy, with imagination

hhahaahahahhahahahahahahahahahahah couch, cough splutter

You'll be surprised how gunk manages to collect on the lens - finger prints, sweat etc (has happened to me, thought at first the camera was stuffed after having fallen with it)

This pic is from my Nokia, yours should be similar quality

wow. That is good quality. Thanks! I will definately let my mate know about this (he took the fodos), It was a Samsung 2megapixel camera jobbie.

(but I always knew Nokia was better  ) Thanks for showing me the way

boet, good question. perhaps behind that blasted firewall, what browser you using? I can see it absolutely perfectly, in Firefox.

ps: Michnus, those shots look like mine really... wonder if the cellphone wasnt a Sony. Was kind black/grey in colour, slide the lens protector open to take a photo etc?

Sorry for the hijack but agree your phone camera can be of much more use if you can keep it still and make sure the lense is clean.

A few I took with my Sony Erickson last year...

I found with the phone camera it takes at least 2 seconds from the time you clicked before it actually takes the photo so experiment with that in mind. It is hard when you adrenaline rushed trying to keep a small phone still

I use IE ver 6.0

Websense blocks the photobucket site as 'personal something' - so I guess its that - bloody firewall. I shall research the possiblity to use this site as a uploading facility.

Hey maverick, wheres that upskirt photos you sneak with your camera ??

BTW - do anyone know the setting to allow for mobile access - I know Wino used his Sony E 910i for mobile surfing of a previous forum?

Cheers
H

Phone browsers are getting better, can see and use most normal web sites.
I have the Nokia 9500 and its basically a small computer.

This has turned into a bit of a cellphone hijack, but this is from my Nokia 9500.
Cant wait to get myself and a bike in CT so you can show me some of these spots LITO.

No worries dude, a bit dissapoitned with the quality of the photos anyway, so its a great place to learn - I just checked out a cammy we have been using for the last year and its been briliant and its only 3.2megapixels..

so a 2megapixel camera should do the business.

will consider the Nokia as my phone of choice when getting a camera. Sounds like a plan.. onya!

and sure, I will sure take you around... its not that bad technically and my goodness is it pretty!!!!!

Guys

Most of the time it is the settings on the camera, but as Maverick pointed out earlier, the one problem that the phone cameras do have is that they take a long time to take the pic and that is often the cause of the blurred shots. 2 Megapixels, should be a decent photo no matter what the phone is. Check the settings on the phone for the size of picture, 640x480 etc...
