Is there a recommended mileage to change the chain on these things?
Im getting tired of feeding chain sliders to my bike (I think Im not looking for #5 in 24k kms) I'm guessing its a combination of dirt/highway riding and the smaller 16T front sprocket that eats them.
I'm thinking about changing to a new chain, 45T rear and putting the basically unused 17T front back on (did around 1000kms on the 17T, if that), and a new slider. And hopefully this one will last.
Down to almost not seeing the entire chain below the "window" in the slider and want to go on a trip on saturday. Chain itself looks fine to me though, so maybe it's a waste...but surely at 24k kms it's not gonna last a hell of a lot longer?
