Hi guys.
2004 R1150GS Adv, 183000km.
I've had the dreaded intermediate shaft bearing failure.
When I opened it all up, I noticed strange wear patterns on the pressure plates.
Is this something I need to worry about ?
The input shaft has a little wear, but at that mileage I'm ok putting it back in.
I havent measured the plate thickness, but given the fact that its getting close
to the rivets, I'll replace it. The splines on the plate show more wear than the shaft.
I know popular advise is to replace the entire clutch assembly, price is a little high,
and importing right now due to Covid is not an option.
Should I just skim the pressure plates and replace the clutch plate, or is there
something more sinister going on.
Clutch has been working great, no issues
If theres someone going to or coming from the UK whos prepared to carry in
a clutch assembly, that would be first prize.
