Finally got around to making a video, but could only manage the first 6 days so far. Enjoy!

Enjoy I did, nice vid indeed!  :thumleft:
I already look forward to to the other one, any Klein Serengeti bits especially!

With a bit of luck (ahem....  O0 ) my next year's trip (yes, this same one) will be on a special bike  :pot:
Mum's the Word, but it'll thump.

Thanks, unfortunately for some reason neither my nor Jaco's GoPro worked for that section. Very sad indeed.

Yes, unfortunate indeed, was looking forward to "see" what I missed.
Oh well, another reason to re-join the Specialized Adventure's team next year!
Mind, hope Jaco will be there then again, I need to be shown some of those Lone Men, or at the very least get some clear tips....  ;)

I really enjoyed reading this RR, thank you to everyone for posting the photos, vids and writing. Magnificent stuff!

Super inspiring & one of the best I have read in quite a while.

Doing that trip on a big bike would be hard for most.

The 690 is a pure race bike, built for Dakar. While this sounds great it can be a real ***** to master physically and mechanically. It requires a high level of skill to ride, and is a bit notorious even in racing circles for its suspension setup. In the wrong hands it can really ruin your day and make riding not so fun. The faster you ride them the better and more stable they become, but this in itself becomes a double edged sword. Speed is great until you run out of road. I personally think its too much bike in more technical stuff.

I definitely need to make a plan to come on a Hardey trip.

Thanks again all.

Thanks for a fantastic RR - what a great read.  I've only ever done southern Namibia on the bike and really need to make a plan sometime soon to get further north.

Definitely on the bucket list!
