Cruising the Tankwa Karoo

Sunday saw Andy, Greg and Robin riding a 700 km circuit through the Tankwa Karoo. Greg the newbie to offroading acquitted himself excellently especially as we encountered plenty of loose sand and gravel.
The highlight of the trip was when just close to Die Mond a herd of Springbok followed by a herd of gemsbok ran across in front of the camera.
Thanks to Andy and Greg we had a great day inspite of the mean 40 degree temperatures fortunately our thirst and hunger well taken care of at Stonehenge and Tankwa Padstal.
Tankwa Padstal reopenes in new buildings on Friday.

The highlight of the trip was when just close to Die Mond a herd of Springbok followed by a herd of gemsbok ran across in front of the camera.

I did a trip up to Die Mond yesterday and bumped into Andy660 relaxing with the family. On the way out just before the Kagga Kama gate I was treated to a similar site, gemsbok followed by springbok. They crossed the road, stopped a few dozen meters from the side of the road and kept an eye on me was I came past.

I was cursing myself for leaving my camera at home that morning. Awesome moment.

I couldnt stay away and went back to Die Mond last weekend.(tankwa , 8 km North of the Tankwa turn off , big black tyre on your Left , 20 km down that road)
I took my daughter and here friend and wife in the car.
What a beautiful place for kids or just to chill out by the river,



So many Bushman Paintings , hiking and swimming in the river.
