Hi all
I know this has been done quite a few times already but there is always something new that one can pick up, so here goes my story.
Having started a new business in the design and manufacturing of adventure motorcycle parts such as bashplates and panniers, it was decided that we need a company bike. I volunteered my trusty 2001 DAKAR with 85 000km on the clock.
The changes
Repainting all the panels and the frame.
Adding new accessories including bashplate and chain guards
Upgrading the front forks to WP upside-down forks
Designing and fitting an aftermarket screen
This rebuild will be done at supper speed as the bike needs to be ready for our next club ride in 10 days. THIS IS GOING TO BE FUN.
Here is the bike as it looked like before we started yesterday
Unfortunately the photos that were taken right before I started stripping are all missing.
