I registered for the Bike SA Desert Run last week. It is from 26 March to 02 April 2010. The format seems to be pretty much the same as last year, which is fine by me.
I intend to trailer my bike to Kuruman the day before and sleep-over in a motel in Kuruman. My back-up will then dump me and my bike and head back to Johannesburg. I have a 3 bike trailer and can take another bike or two and passenger if this will help any other participant.
My intention is to ride the whole adventure route (as per last year) to Swakopmund without back-up. After activities in Swakmund are concluded I will return via Southern Namibia. I particularly want to visit Maltahohe (about 100km west of Mariental), but no exact route is contemplated. I will be travelling in Ultra Minimalistic mode.
If this appeals to others, I would welcome the company.
