Did any bike ride across the Oranje river from the roof

On route back from Roof of Africa on Sunday 28/11/2010  needed to pay the ferryman only when we were on the other side though.

We negotiated R100.00 per bike I paid R150.00 for my 1200 to stop the wineing from the ores man
and to keep the peace for future bikers. Bikes had no hassels with batteries . The river was obout 700mm high and flowing strong one of our guys walked across without his bike but very slow and carefully. Could not take a chance local 4x4 hilux was still waiting so Husky 630 may have been washed away.

I have never paid more than R10.  And that is just for being in a good mood.....

So it seems we have bumped the price up here sorry .

S we went back the way we came this  crossing was after Thaba Seka on the way to Sani.

Left the alternative for another day. Bit worried with no planned route.
