Quoting Hoofseun, "After this weekends experience at Country Trax with Jan du Toit I just realised that reading about doing some riding techniques and actually having experienced guidance in how to do it is two different things". This is very true. I decided to take a refresher course at BMW racecourse at Swartkop, boy did I love it.
I spent the entire Saturday at the course. We set off with class that lasted 2hrs. Loads to learn.
Then field training - everything we learnt in class. Interesting that we used Yamaha's 250 cc -- just an observation. I later road a BMW GS 650. I have never ridden anything so smooth as this bike.
The gurus were very professional and polite and ready to be at our service group of about 8 people.
The lesson and the purpose of this post is to emphasise what is said in the quote above. Dogs, it is completely different when you learn under a guru than just reading about stuff. Some of the stuff we did, cornering, safe riding on the road, braking, swerving and much much more. My next one is the proficiency course.
