I have been looking for a bike that would meet the following needs:
- Dual purpose with moderate gravel road riding
- Must have tubeless tyres (I've had two blowouts on a Transalp, horrific!)
- Not a single and not a GS 650, too many mechanical gremlins
- GS 1150 Adventure was too big for me and I felt intimidated on the bike
- As light or lighter than Africa Twin
- Accessorizable (heated handgrips, Givi top box, Bagster, centre stand, aftermarket slip on, MRA touring screen, K&N filter)
- Reliable and accesibility of parts/dealers
- Comfortable two up touring, proper seats
Time and again the DL650 comes up, so does anyone think I could do better? The only drawback seems to be limited ground clearance.
