Do you grease your air filter where it seats?

Can I please have a show of hands from people who ride dirt and especially dusty and sandy roads a lot.
How many of you put grease between the (already oiled) air filter and the plastic it seats on?
What type of KLR do you have, 08 or pre 08?
Have you ever had any issues with sand getting past the air filter and into the carb and pistons?
