I did a search and didn't really come up with anything, so some help from the guru's please.
My son is in the market for a DR650. There is one on marketplace in KZN where the owner says 'suspect it has dropped a valve, so not running at the moment'.
The questions are:
If it has 'dropped a valve' how does this happen? Is it common on these bikes?
What are the likely repair bills? From what I have read an entire engine rebuild, depending on what happened. I can do the work myself.
Spares availability?
I have messaged the guy, but yet to have a reply. Want a few more details before I make a 2 hour trip to check it out (eg what happened, what mileage on the bike, etc). Bike is 2013 model
If I do go, how will I check if it's a 'dropped valve' without opening it up while I'm there?
