is that route too technical for bigger bikes i.e 800gs?

A GS800 should manage this route, in fact a chap on an 800 did it with us a while ago.

More the rider than the bike though  :ricky:

I have done the route a few times on my 950 SE.It boils down to the rider .If you are worried about a scratch or ding......then it's not for you.On an offroad bike it wouldn't be considered difficult but on a heavier bike it is more challenging.The 690 is almost like cheating.
I would be happy to take u if you are interested and I am sure JonW wouldn't miss out on a chance to go back.
