West Coast - Elands Bay Weekend
Wild Dogs, our club organises an annual (weekend) ride to Elands Bay. See https://www.african-expeditions.com/gallery/2006-01_Elandsbay.htm for pics of last years ride.
Description: We did this run last year and it was a great success.
We depart from Malmsbury via gravel roads for Elands Bay,
stopping along the way for breakfast, coffee and lunch. We expect to reach Elands Bay in the afternoon. 8)
After settling into your rooms we will have early sundowners at the cave over looking the sea. The cave is lined with bushmen paintings and the sunsets are amazing from here. Thereafter we depart for Muisbosskerm beach restaurant for supper. After supper we will return to the hotel at Elands Bay.
On Sunday morning we have breakfast at the Elands Bay Hotel and depart for home via as many gravel roads as possible.
Date: 12th and 13th May
Distance: Approximately 700km return trip
Cost: Club Members R500 per person
Wild Dogs R575 per person
Non Members R650 per person
Cost analysis: Hotel inc breakfast R180 + Muisbosskerm dinner R140 + Backup teams accomodation, food and petrol R180 = R500 per person
Cost includes: Hotel accomodation at the Elands Bay Hotel, Dinner at Muisbosskerm, Breakfast at the hotel, Backup vehicle with trailer, basic medical assistance.
Note: To book the hotel I need to give them a reservation by the 9th of March. If you want to join us on this ride please email me for bank details.
Requirements: You must be able to ride reasonably proficiently - be able to maintain a minimum speed of 60kph to 80kph on gravel.
