So, on my 1200 GS, I have recently had the strange problem that the bike has some sort of electrical problem, that disappears overnight, but returns when the bike was ridden hard. It simply refuses to start and then gives a lampf warning. When you press the starter button, the flickers "short" out then, and stop flashing, but bike won't start.

When I runstart the bike, lampf disappears, and all is well as long as you don't switch off the bike. Back at home, the bike maybe resets itself, because next morning there is no problem at all.

Took in the battery this morning for extensive testing - no problems at all with it.

Recently installed two led spotlights. Don't know if this has any effect on the problem. When bike refused to start, I disconnected the spots to try and eliminate that as a potential problem, but still she did not start, so I doubt this is the problem.

BMW diagnostic picked up 5 faults and said it just had to be reset, which was done. This was apparently due to a drop in battery voltage. We don't know however what caused the drop, nor do we know how to sort it out, as the diagnostic says all was well after the reset.

Any ideas?
