I religiously attempt to take the bike with, every time I go and do some work at our guesthouse in Barkley, and Bastervoetpad is usually on the "To Do" schedule.
From the Barkley/ Elliot/ Ugie area there are 7 mountain passes that can be done.
Each one about a day's outride.

My next trip will include an overnighter at Gatberg, just below the rock formation.

Attached pic shows a view of the intended camp spot. There is also a little Hartbees Huisie on the farm, and bloody cold natural pools for a "refreshing" swim.

The other two dogs have never ridden the area so going to be good.

The last two occasions I have been up Baster, it has been damp in places and wet it other places. There are two places that people ( including me ) get stuck. One can get past those sections with a bit of effort and team work  :ricky: We had great fun !  8)

And we did our ride on the 16th Dec... a glorious dry, sunny day. Thanks for showing me such a great ride my friend.
