My green meanie went in for her 10k service today. 9854km on the clock...

Tomorrow was the planned 'Doohickey Day'.

Went to the dealership at 16h00 to fetch her. Got there to find them just finishing off. The mechanic (in front of the dealer principal - who fortuitously happened to be in the workshop) hits the starter, and then a sudden sickening thunk  !!!!!!!! Everyone stops what they're doing and looks at each other  . Off comes the side of the motor, and out pours the oil. Yup, doohickey failure. I then told them about the doohickey which I have just bought. Looks like they'll have to do the fitting for free, I'll keep my guarantee, and I want to be reimbursed for the costs of the new parts. Hell, if I'm supplying parts which would be covered by the guarantee, they can keep their sh*tty parts, and knock the cost of the parts off the price of my service.

All in all, I don't think it could have happened in a better way :) :) :)
