So after playing a bit on google maps, we found some old gravel roads that looked like it would lead to the west coast national park. after phoning a friend, this was confirmed to have been the old yzerfontein - langebaan road gravel. so Gwild and myself decided to go and look if we could still excess the national park via this road. this did not work as well as planned as all the old roads has been closed up by the national parks. so we headed back to the R27 and into the park. the idea was to get to saldanha bay point.... :ricky:
we explored all the roads in the park even the ones that said no entry.... they all came to a dead end.
after discussing conversation with one of the rangers - it was said that we can not get to the point as we will need to go through the naval base, and that this was not going to happen, as there was no one at the base over weekends and the land between the national park and naval base is private land - this land belongs to parliament members..... so no entry to get to the point...
we started our trippie in fog this morning.....
yzerfontein turn off - right into blombos.... 1st dead end
headed the national park - tried all the back roads with allot off dead ends... :imaposer: but it was fun though.
ended at geelbek restaurant for a quick one and then head off... please just remember when you there close the sugar pots on the table - the birds scale the sugar :imaposer:
round trip - 230km
