After 30.00 km on my 800 and having read far to much about the 800,s suspension I finally opted for the MP/JJ Engineering suspension mod which is springs and valving,( i was Mod no 63 or something)
Removed the front wheel only to find my stearing bearings have a centre point, i could not feel this with the wheel on but the bearing were knacked
removing the bearing race is a bit of a mission but if you are cearfull you can weld a bead on the bottom race heating the race up and giving you something to knock.
for a test ride i rode the bike on the worst tar rode i could find, The road from zone 7 to Mal mesbury,
For the first time i could sit at 120 and never have to stand
On dirt no handle bars slamming into my wrists corrugations were much easier on the body on the worst dirt i could find i had to stand but nothing got scary.
Golly fine job if i may say
