I would like to start a thread for problems riders experience on the twin models on the 800/650 class. (moderator please feel free to move it -i did search and could not find any definete thread about this)
this is not about bad handling or soft front suspention, but actual issues, like bearing failures, chain failure etc.
I am starting with mine.
Model 2009 F800GS 12400km.
Problem experienced - Top gasket started leaking oil on the left hand side while on a trip. did not want to ruin my engine so i used the on call service (i rode it out once before and almost destroyed the engine - on another bike)
Being repaired under warrenty - BMW on Call sorted it out, but i am still waiting for saartjie, she is being fixed in nelspruit.
note - on advrider a lot of guys has the exact same issue leaking on the left (i am begining to wonder about the rotex engine reliablity??)
