Decided to try ordering from FC Moto in Germany. (New Jacket) They have a huge selection and the prices are really good. BUT........
Then came SARS. Fkn 45% duty with VAT on top of more VAT blah and so the Courier wanted an extra R3000 !!!
On the bright side, the jacket was already discounted 50% so in the end it was a good deal. So my R4000 jacket became an R7000 jacket.
So just a heads up, if its not heavily discounted or close out sale, leave it alone.
Apparently helmets don't get taxed like this. Go figure. Maybe our short sighted govt should realize that by reducing these import charges on quality gear, we might end up less riders occupying hospital beds.
