I bought one of those standard 12v sockets from Outdoor warehouse, and wired the two wires directly to the battery with a fuse inline.
Problem is where to mount the socket, as I don't want to take the chance to drill unnecessary holes. I bought a 28mm circular drillbit.
Refer to photo attached: At point 1 I wanted to mount the socket, but there is some iron bracket in the way there. I suspect this is for the OEM socket should you want to spend the odd Thousand Rand or so for them to do the job. This is thus not a suitable place to drill a 28 mm hole.
Point 2 would be ideal, but I am a bit scared of drilling a hole there, as this is a huge panel that can have expensive results should this not be a suitable place in the first instance.
Please advise me on the above, or better locations if any... Thanks !!!
